Welcome! I’m glad you stopped by and are interested in our services. I’m hoping that you have already seen The Blog to see some of my recent work and added me as a friend on Facebook and Instagram. Below are common questions many couples have when looking for a wedding photographer. If you have questions that are not covered below, or if you simply want to say “hello”, please email me. I’d love to chat more, get to know you and make sure we are the perfect fit!
Where are you located? Do you travel?
I live in Kopperl, Texas, about an hour south of Fort Worth. I frequently photograph in Dallas/Fort Worth for weddings, engagement and lifestyle photo sessions. I am also available for travel worldwide and I love to visit new places! Travel fees do apply for any wedding or event located over 100 miles from Kopperl. This will be discussed on the date of booking.
What is your photographic style?
My style is a timeless and artistic blend. I enjoy taking creative liberties with posed and styled images but I also make an effort to capture candid moments as they unfold throughout the day. My goal is to make my clients feel comfortable in front of the camera to capture their real and raw personalities.
What are your rates for Weddings?
Wedding collections begin at $1800 with the All-Inclusive Wedding Photography experience from $3200. The average client spends around $2500.
Are your wedding packages adjustable?
Yes! My collections are customizable and I am flexible to ensure you receive what you are looking for. I have created collections based on what is most popular among brides, but I have also included an A La Carte section available for customizing certain collections to fit your needs. If you have any questions, just ask!
When is our money due? Do you offer payment plans?
A $200 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your wedding date. I am flexible when it comes to payment plans as I understand wedding finances and tight budgets! I do ask that when we finalize the contract we have a set plan as to when payments will be made. Full payment must be received by the date of the wedding.
I love your work! How do I reserve you to photograph my wedding?
Send me an email inquiry including your wedding date and location and I will get back to you regarding reserving the date! We will meet up via Skype, phone or over coffee in person (my favorite!) to discuss wedding collections. Your date is reserved upon signing the contract and paying a $200 non-refundable deposit.
Should we consider adding a second photographer to our collection?
I highly recommend brides reserve a second photographer for their wedding day. While I do my best to capture every moment of your wedding day, I can’t be at two places at one time. A second photographer allows for every moment to be captured, and the most important moments are captured through two different angles.
Do we get to choose our second photographer?
The selection of a second photographer is something I handle. My husband, Mike, often assists me on wedding days. Not only is he a talented photographer, but we are very familiar with each other’s work styles and we work together efficiently and effectively. Plus, you’ll love him – he’s the funny one!
How much time should we set aside on our wedding day for portraits?
I recommend anywhere from 25-35 minutes to take pictures of the two of you! This does not include the time needed for formal portraits of the family and bridal party.
Be sure to give me as much time as possible to capture the two of you on your special day! I tell all of my couples that blocking out 30 minutes with your photographer will give you both a beautiful collection of photographs and a chance to spend time together, just the two of you – apart from the hustle and bustle of your wedding day. Most of my couples agree that their favorite photographs of the day are the bride and groom portraits!
Do you have a back-up camera & lenses?
Yes! I have a full set of gear including back-up cameras and extra lenses. I have zoom lenses, wide angle lenses and prime lenses that will ensure quality photos in any and every situation.
What happens if there is an emergency situation and you are unable to photograph my wedding?
In the highly unlikely event that I am not able to attend your wedding day, I will do my absolute best to provide another photographer of equal caliber. I know many professionals in the industry who I would call upon. A full refund would also be given.
Do you shoot more than one event on my wedding day?
When a client books me for their wedding day, I reserve the entire day for them! I give my undivided attention and full energy to my couples on their wedding day.
How long does it take to receive my photos?
I tell brides to expect 3-6 weeks for the delivery of files. I will post a sneak peek on social media within 10 days of the event so that you have something to hold on to until your files are delivered!
Do I have permission to print the photos? Can I use them online?
With each of my weddings and portrait sessions, I release the photographs for personal use. This allows you to print the images at any photo lab of your choice for friends and family and use the images online. I do ask that when you post online, you give credit to Alyssa Martin Photography. You may not however – sell, edit, or advertise the images in any way. If you desire to submit images to a wedding blog or publication, I do ask that you contact me first before submitting to ensure that I have not already submitted the images. A copyright release document is included in the file delivery that spells out these guidelines as well.
Engagement Sessions – what are they? Why should we schedule one?
Engagement sessions are a great way for me to get to know you and your spouse-to-be! I use this time to get comfortable with one another so that everyone feels more at ease in front of the camera on the wedding day, plus you get great photos to use for Save-the-Dates, wedding websites and social media! Engagement sessions are usually 1.5 hours at a location of your choice. I encourage couples to choose a place that is meaningful to them in some way so that they can look back at the photos and have memories beyond the photo session. The best time of day is usually a couple of hours before sunset, what photographers call the “golden hour.” It allows for soft light that reflects beautiful skin tones and color.
Do you offer products such as canvas prints, coffee table books, and albums?
Of course! You will be given your photos through an online gallery that gives options for printing through the most well-known printing lab in the country. The print lab is already calibrated with my photographs. I also offer albums, canvases and other options through my services. Some are included in wedding collections and others can be ordered separately. Let me know what you are interested in and we will discuss pricing and other information.
